Features
The Smart Futures site has many features available to web users and clients who visit the site. Some of the main features are detailed below.
NEWS FEEDS
Smart Futures uses RSS to keep users up to date with recent news. Look for the RSS icon throughout the site to download the news feed for that section. To find out more about using RSS click here. As well as a main news feed direct to your computer you can also read individual news items on the pages listed in the News section.
SEARCH FIELD
Looking for some specific content? Simply type a keyword in to the search field and click go. This will then generate a page listing all the documents and articles on the site that are relevant to your search.
MAILING LIST
By adding your email address in to this field and clicking on 'Go' you can subscribe to our mailing list. Once you have subscribed you will receive regular newsletters and updates to you email account. If you wish to unsubscribe from the list, simply add your email address, check the box labeled ‘unsubscribe’ and click on ‘Go’.
MEDIA FILES/DOWNLOADS
Throughout the Smart Futures site you will see icons indicating that extra content is available for download. Content available for download provides further information on a particular news item or project. The icons and their uses are detailed below:
Podcast Icon – This icon indicates that an audio file is available for download. By clicking on the icon you can listen to the accompanying Mp3 file. Users with ITunes or a similar RSS media player installed can also subscribe to our regular Podcast. Once you have subscribed to the Podcast each new audio file will be automatically downloaded to your computer upon its release. To subscribe to the Podcast simply copy and paste the URL from the Podcast icon RSS feed in to your chosen media player.
PDF Icon – This icon indicates that a supporting document in PDF format is available for download.
Word Icon – This icon indicates that a supporting document in Microsoft Word format is available for download.
